Cuba Today
Cuba is unlike any other place on earth. The island lies in the northwest
of the Caribbean Sea, 145 km south of Florida, at the mouth of the Gulf
of Mexico. Almost the size of England, it is by far the largest island in
the Caribbean Islands and one of the most fascinating. To Columbus it was
also the best: he called it 'the most beautiful land yet seen by human eye'.

- Cuba
This alligator-shaped island is by far the largest and most populated of
Caribbean countries. Once the No 1 travel destination in the area and known
as the Pearl of the Antilles, Cuba became a Red Pearl after a revolution
placed communist Fidel Castro in charge. Known for the finest rum and cigars,
the People's Republic of Cuba has been off-limits to most Americans for
the past 35 years. Old Havana is slowly being restored as an open-air museum.
Art and culture thrives.
Holiday
Lettings - Cuba
Cuba is the largest island in the Antilles in the Caribbean and was discovered
in 1492 by Christopher Columbus. Its major attraction is its stunning coastline,
which makes it a wonderful holiday destination for those seeking to relax
in one of the many beach resorts. Those interested in Cuba's cultural heritage
can explore the cobbled streets of its capital city Havana in a horse-drawn
carriage.
Lonely
Planet - Cuba
Epic colonial architecture, libidinous young salsa dancers, Che Guevara
murals, white-powder sandy beaches, swaying fields of sugar cane - the images
of Cuba are as transfixing as they are timeless. This is an island of unique
historical heritage floating amid a sea of encroaching globalisation.
